Dyynit Sweater is an all-over colorwork raglan design inspired by the soft, flowing shapes of sand dunes in Hanko. It echoes the natural lines the wind draws on the shore; abstract, earthy and grounding. This sweater features raglan lines with a slipped stitch detail, adding a subtle architectural touch. A piece that invites slowness, warmth and connection to nature.
Construction
First, a 1x1 ribbed neckband is worked and folded down double. The neckline is a relaxed crew neck shape, worked slightly wider than a standard collar. Then German Short Rows are worked in stockinette back and forth in the MC across the upper back to give the neck added length and better shape. Raglan increases then begin at the same time as working the pattern to the underarms. Sleeves are then divided from the body and the rest of the body is worked in the round in the pattern until desired length. Then sleeves are worked individually in the pattern in the round with shaping decreases until desired length. All hems are finished with a simple 1x1 ribbing and Italian bind off. All hems are worked in the MC. Note: Different size needles will be worked throughout the piece in order to help maintain the correct gauge. Colorwork sections will use half a needle size bigger than the stockinette section.
The pattern is in English.
